Speaker Burmaster Reacts To Republican Victory In House Elections

September 25, 2025 - After a vicious defeat by Republicans, Nationalists are looking to the future as they prepare to enter the Minority for the first time ever. But after it was announced that Republicans were taking control of the House, Speaker Burmaster issued a statement regarding the victory of Republicans and the loss by his ruling party. 

"At the end of the day we are pretty disappointed, but we are hopeful and optimistic about the future and the successes we have jointly for the Jesstopian people. While we may have lost the majority, we will still very much fight back against discriminatory legislation and policies of Republicans, albeit at a much more disadvantageous position after November 10, 2025. We will never surrender, we will never stop working and fighting hard for the Jesstopian people."

Burmaster said he was "ready to assist the New Speaker, who is set to be the House's first Republican Speaker, when a new Speaker is elected. He said that the party must unify to ensure that government works for the people and that the constitution is followed.
